Maireana pyramidata (Sago bush)

Dense, stiffly branched shrub to 1m high. Branchlets finely woolly. Also found in WA, SA andNSW. Occurs in calcareous and/or sub saline soils, usually prone to inundation. Scattered but locally common in far north-western Victoria (eg. Mildura, Red Cliffs, Lake Culluleraine) but extending southwards along the Murray River to the Kerang-Swan Hill district. Fruits mostly August-November.
