Salsola kali (Roly Poly, Prickly Saltwort)

Erect to rounded annual to 60cm high. Commonly breaking off near ground level at maturity and dispersing tumbleweed-fashion. Found in all mainland states. Widespread in semi-arid, often slightly saline areas in north and north-west, occasionally coastal (Port Phillip, Western Port) with isolated occurrences in the east. Flowers mainly in May-October. At least 3 distinct entities in Victoria.
